Kevin Ward is a recording and mixing engineer with more than thirty years in music and production. He started at age eleven with a cassette recorder in Alabama. His career grew through studio work in Asheville, Nashville, the Los Angeles area, and Atlanta, then brought him back to Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
His credits include Dove winning projects along with hundreds of independent releases. He has worked with artists such as Vince Gill, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Mark Lowry, Jeff and Sheri Easter, Karen Peck and New River, and The Talleys.
According to his Wikipedia page , Kevin has received several industry honors including: Engineer of the Year from the Absolutely Gospel Music Awards, a Telly Award for video production excellence, and a regional Emmy Award for audio work in television.
Kevin founded MixCoach in 2012 to give mixers clear teaching and real community. The program has mentored thousands of engineers who want practical steps that work in real sessions. He also hosts the MixCoach Podcast, where he talks about mixing, creative growth, and lessons from real studio work. His teaching focuses on clear decisions, simple systems, and the thousand little things that shape a mix.
Kevin is the co author of Pro Tools 7, The Mixer’s Toolkit. His upcoming book, Learning to Listen, helps readers pay attention to the signals in their work and in their personal lives.
He also hosts in person clinics in Nashville. These sessions, called MixCoach Experience Weekend, train engineers in the practical details of recording and mixing while working with top Nashville musicians in some of the city’s best studios.
He has served as Technical Director for multi campus churches in Georgia where he led audio, video, and lighting teams. Today he mentors engineers, produces educational content, and runs MixCoach from Murfreesboro.
